The consortium participated with 74% by the terminal operator PSA Corporation of Singapore and the remaining 26% from India ABG Group has won the tender for the construction and operation of the fourth container terminal at the Indian port of Jawaharlal Nehru. The planned investment amounts to 67 billion rupees (1.37 billion dollars).
The new terminal, which will have a shore line of two miles, will have an annual traffic capacity of 4.8 million TEUs of containers.
The three existing container terminal at the port are operated respectively by the Indian port Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT), the Gateway Terminals India (joint venture between APM Terminals and the Dutch Indian Container Corporation of India) and the terminal operator DP Group World of Dubai.
